Google Summer of Code 2014

Xapian was a mentoring organisation for ​GSoC in 2014. You can also see a summary of our involvement in other years.

Projects

We ​received many strong applications, and had six slots from Google to allocate. It wasn't easy to decide, but these are the projects we selected:

• Assem Chelli (GMT+1): Arabic Support
• Aarsh Shah (UTC+5:30): Performance/Relevancy testing module and optimization of DFR
• George Daniel MITRA (UTC+2): Clustering of search results
• Hanxiao Sun (UTC+8): Learning to Rank
• Jiarong Wei (GMT+8): Learning to Rank
• Shangtong Zhang (UTC+8): Posting list encoding improvements
